What are back months ?
Back months are those contract in a financial instrument where volume and movement is less in those contacts.
To make money and minimize risk, back contracts are excellent choice as few volume is traded in those back contracts. Mostly back month spreads trades in ranges and few times they do break ranges too.
Eg: At present date Crudeoil July 2021 contract is trading in the market, then back months contracts in Crude oil would be after crude oil Dec 2021.
